S.O.S DRY SKIN:
OUR TIPS TO DEAL WITH IT

All you need to know about face dry skin

Dry skin on the face is characterised by a feeling of discomfort, tightness, some signs of sensitivity such as redness, the complexion appears duller and overall, the skin lacks softness and is marked by fine lines.

The cause? The epidermis lacks essential fatty acids and ceramides. These lipids play the role of cement between the cells so that water does not evaporate at the surface. The reasons for this are constitutional, we are talking about a skin type, often hereditary, but also seasonal, as we lack more lipids in winter.

Finally, from a hormonal point of view, it has been observed that after the age of 50, the skin becomes drier due to an inevitable drop in oestrogen, which used to ensure regular cell renewal and good skin elasticity. Collagen and elastin fibres and hyaluronic acid become rarer, which makes the epidermis thinner and more fragile.

People often confuse dry skin with dehydrated skin, but there is a difference. The latter suffers from a lack of hydration because the hyaluronic acid that stores water in the dermis does its job less well. The treatment will therefore be a little different.

Good to know: with dry skin, the hydrolipidic film is altered, so dehydration is never far away. You can therefore suffer from both dry and dehydrated skin, and need both water and lipids. Fortunately, there are solutions to combat this dry skin.

Dry to very dry skin: which ritual to adopt?

Every skincare routine starts with a thorough cleansing of the face, using formulas adapted to dry skin, at the risk of increasing the feeling of discomfort. Using a moisturiser is essential for caring for dry facial skin. But there are other treatments that complement this routine.

In the palm of your hands, the 64 Silky Lotion provides a moisturising and soothing action, while removing the residue of drying limescale. Once a week, the 66 Gentle Exfoliator gently eliminates dead cells.

On a daily basis, the NUTRI'VITAL range is the best answer for dry skin, thanks to its perfectly adapted textures and formulas.

It is recommended to apply the 440 NUTRI'VITAL Serum-in-Oil which is very comfortable, followed by the 450 NUTRI'VITAL Eye Contour Cream on the fragile eye area.

In the morning, we rely on the nourishing and revitalising effectiveness of the 460 NUTRI'VITAL Cream.

In the evening, remove your make-up with the 67 Oil-in-Milk Sublime Cleanser, which provides a dose of essential fatty acids, reinforces the hydrolipidic barrier and prevents dehydration.

In the evening, we melt for the enveloping texture of the 5 Rich Cream NUTRI'VITAL, which provides precious lipidic elements from Phytosterols and Hazelnut oil during the nightly cell renewal process.

For an intense nutritive action, it is recommended to apply once a week, for example after the enzymatic scrub, the 480 NUTRI'VITAL Mask. This highly sensorial creamy formula fills the dry skin of the face with a synergy of vegetable oils, including precious Argan Oil, moisturising amino acids and nourishing Allantoin.

The extra tip? Nourishing and revitalising skin care products are even more effective when applied after a shower, while the pores are still dilated by the heat. The active ingredients will spread even better.

How to stop dry skin forever?

In addition to a well-established bathroom ritual, with moisturising and nourishing formulas to deeply hydrate the skin, people with dry skin must pay attention to certain external factors that tend to accentuate feelings of tightness and discomfort. Cold, wind and pollution tend to weaken the epidermis of the face, hence the interest in adopting so-called rich galenic products, full of lipids, when confronted with them.

Don't forget to regularly treat yourself to a deep professional treatment in a beauty parlour to put your skin in the hands of an expert who knows how to adapt her protocol to the precise needs of each individual. We think we're doing the right thing, but dry facial skin is often altered by inappropriate treatments that are too aggressive, such as abrasive exfoliation or astringent lotion... Gentleness is required! As far as diet is concerned, it is important to drink enough water throughout the day, and to watch your intake of Vitamin A, trace elements and fatty acids contained in vegetable oils and oily fish, in order to nourish the skin from the inside.

All of these actions combined lead to a real improvement in the condition of dry skin which, little by little, regains a real suppleness, a pleasant comfort and a dazzling luminosity.
